The 35th Arundel Gallery Trail - an open house event featuring
over 100 artists in 49 venues www.arundelgallerytrail.co.uk
The exhibition will have two strands; firstly a body of work completed earlier in the year, with a handful of new additions. This is an exploratory collection that I feel is another move towards the abstract yet still referencing landscape, with strong colour and a sense of the uplifting to the fore.
More recently completed is a collection of paintings based on a trip to Venice in May. Always a city of great beauty and inspiration; the colours for me are
simply stunning and reflect those I am particularly drawn to, with shades of pink, orange, peach and red.
These paintings will be shown in a dedicated room and have been painted on specially constructed arched panels, echoing the windows and domes of the city.

Set in a landscaped park, the Grange is the foremost example in England of Greek Revival architecture. Originally a 17th century brick building it was later transformed into something more like an ancient Greek temple. Saved from demolition in 1975 it now hosts many events and is used as an opera venue.

This collection of paintings began with a number of small oil sketches on card, a few of which were then interpreted as larger works.
These smaller oil sketches are presented in lime washed oak frames, mounted and under glass.
In addition there are a number of new, small, medium and large scale works including two diptychs.

In the Pink - Online retrospective exhibition 2009 - 2019

To celebrate the launch of my new website I’m curating a retrospective of selected work from the last 10 years.
Many of these paintings have not been out of the storeroom for some while so it’s been interesting to observe my response to seeing these works afresh, to observe the movement in approach, to watch horizons rise and fall and quite a relief to find that I can still connect with them; like meeting old friends after years apart and falling into easy conversation.
I very much hope that they resonate with you and that you’ll enjoy sharing my journey, the ups and the Downs, the joy and the privilege of doing what I love and where pink always seems to find its way in and warm my heart.
